Video doesn't play?

If you cannot watch the video correctly this may be due to concentrated access on the servers. Please try reloading several times or avoid watching the videos during the night or in busy hours.

*Please take these steps on your discretion as changing the settings on your browsers or the security program may have an effect on the viewing in other site. 


Watch in Nico Nico Douga's recommended settings.
Please try watching on a computer environment that meets the requirements of the recommended settings or try watching the video in other browser.


Delete cookie browser or delete temporary internet file
Please refer to the internet for details as steps may differ in each version. 
Saved information on the player may be deleted depending on the browser. Additionally, if you delete the cookies, you will be logged out.

Internet Explorer
Tool > Internet Option > General > Go to "Delete" in browsing history to "Delete File" and "Delete Cookies"  

Firefox
Firefox > Option > Privacy > Show Cookies > Remove all Cookies > Close > select "OK".
Tool > Option > Advanced > Select "Remove Now" in the network tab.  

Safari (Only Mac)
To delete Cookies : Tool > Edit > Settings > Security > Show cookies > Remove All   
To delete cash : Tool > Edit > Empty Cash > Empty  



Change the setting on the "Internet Option" for Internet Explorer

Tool > Internet Option > Security
Click on "Reset all zones to original setting" or go to "Customize Level" and check on "Enable" for all the checkboxes or check on "Display Dialogue". 

Tool > Internet Option > Privacy
Please lower the settings below "Medium-High". If you have the setting on "high" you will not be able to login to niconico.com.



Change the setting on the security soft

The connection and access to Nico Nico may be restricted due to your security software. In regards to how to change the software's settings, please refer to the provider.



Deletion and Re-installation of the Flash Player

Please delete the Flash Player and install the latest version of the flash player. Please perform this process even if you already have the latest version installed.

Next, Logout > Reboot > Login and try watching the video again


■Correct the date and time on your computer

■If you have multiple browsers open, please close them 

■Reboot the router or modem 

■Change to wired connection if you are using wireless

■Allow cookie

■Remove special proxy if you have one

■Uninstall tool related items

■Contact your provider
If you are having a similar problem in another video website as well, your provider may have placed a restriction on the bandwidth. If this is so, please contact your provider.

You may also not be able to watch the video correctly due to your computer environment, router or internet line. If this is the case please watch on another computer or a different provider.


If there is a direction telling you to update your Flashplayer on your in the video player, please follow the procedures below. 

(1) Activate the browser's javascript

Download the uninstall program, delete all the FlashPlayer from the computer including the past versions. *Delete the program even if it is the latest version.

Activate the install program and after installing the FlashPlayer, please check to see if you still get the same message at Niconico. 
* Please close all programs and browsers before proceeding.

If the problem persists, please notify us the message displayed in your browser from Inquiry /Feedback. 

Player severed at the bottom?

 - For those who cannot see the comment space, tabs or control buttons such as Play/Stop, check to see if the page aren't shrunk by the browsers. Adjust the magnification function on your browser to correctly display the player. 

 - For those using a mouse with a scroll button.
Rotate the scroll while pressing the Ctrl key (command key) to magnify/shrink the page. 
 
- For those using a keyboard
Press the +key while holding down the Ctrl key (command key) to magnify the page.   
Press the -key while holding down the Ctrl key (command key) to shrink the page.

Yellow framed comments

Comments with the yellow framing are your comments and is used to diffrentiate your comments with the others. Other users will not be able to see them. 

Run comments in the back

You can run the comments in the back when you feel there are too many and blocks your view.

 - How to Set 
Click on the "Settings" in the menu on the player's top right and check "Run comments in the back"  

Filter Settings

Filter settings allows you to hide comments that include inappropriate words, or those posted by a particular user which others may find offensive. You can hide these comments by typing in the word. command or User ID in the filter tab on your right and clicking on either the "Add" button or Enter. 
Filter settings can be undone by checking the delete box and clicking on "Delete" or "Delete All".

Standard members will be able to add up to 40 max per each video. 

Recommended

Recommended are videos that other viewers have watched after the video you are currently watching. Recommended will be displayed after the end of the video and you can jump to that page by clicking on the thumbnail.
This function will automatically filter comments made on your video. In contrast to the NG settings, the filtering function applies to all viewers. 

 - How to Use
1. Type in the words included in the user's comments in the "Before Replacement". 
2. Type in the words that will replace the "Before replacement" in the "After Replacement" column. 
3. Press "Add" to complete settings.  

Useful Functions

 - Adding Tags
You can link videos with other related ones by adding or deleting keywords (Max. 10). The tag Edit button is located on top of the video player. 

 - Auto-scroll
By selecting "Auto Scroll" in the comment tab on your right, comments will be sorted according to their play time and its list will scroll as it plays. 

 - Receive comments automatically
The video will automatically receive comments and new comments will be shown even during play. The video however may be stalled momentarily under certain environment. 
Additionally, comment list will scroll down to the very bottom when the video automatically receives comments during view. If this bothers you, please check off the "Receive comments automatically".
